Item 8.01. Other Events
On August 2, 2011, Applied Energetics, Inc. (the “Company”) announced the USMC issued a Sources Sought Notice (the “SSN”) soliciting a request for information for funding mine roller enhancement reduction and clearance systems. The Company recently received notification from the USMC advising the Company that the U.S. government has determined not to fund the activities outlined in the SSN and, as a result, no organizations that responded to the SSN would be awarded contracts to execute the activities identified in the SSN.
