On March 31, 2006, Atlantic Coast Federal Corporation announced that
its Board of Directors has voted to increase the quarterly cash dividend rate
from $0.08 per common share to $0.09 per common share. The higher dividend is
payable on May 1, 2006, to stockholders of record as of April 14, 2006. The full
