THOMPSON CREEK ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF JAMES L.
FREER TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. (the “Company”), one of the world’s largest publicly traded, pure molybdenum producers, today announced the appointment of James L. Freer to the Company’s Board of Directors.

 

“We are very pleased that someone as distinguished and experienced in the audit and accounting field as James L. Freer has agreed to serve as a Director of Thompson Creek Metals,” said Kevin Loughrey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Mr. Freer, a resident of Bellevue, Washington, is a Certified Public Accountant and recently retired from Ernst & Young LLP, one of the largest U.S. audit and accounting firms after serving in various positions for 38 years including Managing Partner of the Northwest Area (Seattle) from 1991 to 1995 and the Pacific Southwest Area (Los Angeles) from 1995 to 2000.

 

From 2000 until his retirement, Mr. Freer was one of 20 members on the Ernst & Young Americas Executive Board, which is responsible for governance and strategy, and one of 12 members of the Americas Operations Committee. He also served as Americas Vice Chair with lead responsibility for all aspects of the firm’s people focus, including compensation, technical and other training, policies, culture, retention, and development.
