On August 9, 2006, First BanCorp (or the “Company”) issued a press release that announces, among
other things, selected unaudited operating results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2006. A

The Company also announced on the press release that First BanCorp’s Board of Directors has
declared the next payment of dividends on First BanCorp’s Series A through E Preferred shares. A
