     On December 12, 2008, Insteel Industries, Inc. issued a press release announcing guidance for its first quarter ending December 27, 2008. The Company now expects to report a loss for the period due to the continuation of depressed order levels during the quarter and the consumption of higher cost inventory. A copy of this release is being filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
