John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. (Nasdaq: JBSS), a leading processor of high-quality nuts, has moved its corporate headquarters to Elgin from Elk Grove Village as of Feb. 26, 2007. This completes the second step in a series of moves to incorporate the company’s five Chicagoland facilities into a single one million sq. ft. fully-integrated facility in Elgin, Illinois.
In addition to corporate offices, the new facility houses processing and packing operations, as well as research and development facilities.
The company’s consolidation into the new facility will provide up to 40% additional processing capacity and allow the company to expand the product lines it offers customers.
In addition to the Elgin campus, JBSS has manufacturing facilities located in the nut growing regions of California, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas.
JBSS began as a pecan shelling company in Chicago in 1922 and has grown into a processor, packager, marketer and distributor of shelled and in-shell nuts, which are sold under a variety of private labels and under the company's Fisher and Sunshine Country® brands.
The company also markets, distributes and in most cases, manufactures and processes a diverse product line of food and snack items including nut mixes, peanut butter, candy, natural snacks, extruded snacks, corn snacks and sesame sticks.
