Company Awards Over $2,000 to Student Chefs at Bethune-Cookman University
PRLog - Dec. 2, 2013 - DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- “We’re open for business!” proclaimed Ana Rosa-Randolph, CEO of Abraham Rosa Seasonings, as the company officially launched at a celebratory event on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University.

With over 50 people in attendance, 16 students competed for over $2,000 in prize money, at a recipe contest judged by Reiner Drygala, Executive Chef of the Citrus Club in Orlando; Dr. Aubrey Long, Dean, Bethune-Cookman University School of Business; and Andre Burgess, General Manager of Sodexo. It was the main event on Thursday, November 14, to introduce Abraham Rosa Seasonings, Inc. and the company’s “All-Purpose Rub”.

Winners of the recipe contest were: Antonio Clark (1st place, poultry, $500); Jaron Williams (2nd place, poultry, $300); Chinatsu Kajiwara (3rd place, poultry, $150); Breanne McCloud (1st place, fish, $500); Olivia Pringle (2nd place, fish, $300); Keyana Evans-Hood (3rd place, fish, $150).  Other student chefs were awarded runner-up cash prizes for participating in the event.  Some of the dishes can be seen at http://www.pinterest.com/greatseasonings/our-1st-recipe-contest/.

The seasoning has a long history.  In 1956, Abraham Rosa, a native of Puerto Rico, started selling food seasoning.  Along the way he created a special secret seasoning recipe. It was so popular that in 1986, he decided to go commercial. His young daughter, Ana Isabel Rosa, helped him develop the packaging for the flavorful seasoning which he called “Adobo Abraham.”

Tragically, Abraham's second love – the sea – claimed his life on a fishing trip in 1990. The production of the secret seasoning came to a halt.

All her life, Ana (now Ana Rosa-Randolph), had wanted to honor her dad by sharing his recipe with the world.  That dream has come to fruition 23 years later with this week’s launch of Abraham Rosa Seasonings, Inc.

“I am thrilled to be able to bring my father’s secret recipe to people around the world who are looking to awaken their inner gourmet passion,” said Rosa-Randolph.  “Our recipe contest was the ideal way to come to market.  Our All-Purpose Rub enhances the flavor of food without additives or preservatives.  Abraham Rosa Seasonings will delight everyone’s palate with our healthy, natural recipe.”

“Our whole family is excited and honored to be able to fulfill my Dad’s dream,” Rosa Randolph continued.  “This has been a long time in the making.”

Abraham Rosa Seasonings will be sold in grocery stores and box chain stores, as well as to distributors and online.

About Abraham Rosa Seasonings

Abraham Rosa Seasonings (ARS) makes and distributes an all-purpose gourmet seasoning, now available at wholesale, in retail stores, and online.

Abraham Rosa Seasonings’ history started with Abraham Rosa, born in the small town of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico in 1921. In 1986, at the urging of his daughter, he started "Adobo Abraham," a seasoning with all-natural ingredients.  Quickly, the secret recipe went commercial.

The product (Adobo Abraham) was a success, but in 1990 Abraham Rosa unexpectedly passed away on a fishing trip (his second love) due to a bad storm.  All businesses related to Abraham Rosa were discontinued.

Since that time, the seasoning has been distributed to special friends and family, who have shared it with their friends and family.  All who use the seasoning rave about it.

In 2012, Abraham Rosa’s daughter Ana Isabel Rosa Randolph, with her son Axel and daughter Ana Cristina, joined forces with the University of Central Florida Business Incubator program to re-launch Mr. Rosa’s product and rebrand the company, now named Abraham Rosa Seasonings.

The company’s first product is an All Purpose Rub.  The original seasoning will soon be joined by other traditional island flavors.  Visit www.abrahamrosaseasonings.com for more information and to order the seasoning online.
