How Do Women in Transition Cope with Change and Where do They Start?

“Women in Transition: Unleash Your Potential with Smarts and Style” event is successfully answering that question
PRLog - Jan. 27, 2014 - EAST BAY, Calif. -- As trends emerge in the New Economy regarding women in transition so do the tools available to help them. In previous years, coming together with other women to find empowerment and learn how to find their own unique gifts did not exist.

In the 1990s women could still go out and find jobs and get into a routine bringing money into the household. In today’s economy those blue-collar and white-collar jobs do not exist the way they used to, and following the recession moms and other women in transition are left trying to find their place, and how they can contribute to make the world a better place.

A group of talented women saw this need and came together to fill it. They have created a workshop harboring a safe haven, bringing their individual expertise to the table called, “Women in Transition: Unleash Your Potential with Smarts and Style.” During last week’s event, many were inspired to be there true authentic self.

“Women in Transition is a 3-hour, must attend event for women at all stages of their business and personal life. The information I gathered is something I am putting to use already. I can’t wait for the next event! Networking with other like-minded women was a great bonus for me too,” said Stacy Dennig, of Pleasanton, California.

The “Women in Transition Team” as they call themselves, are as unique as the name of their event implies. All have struggled to find real purpose and have achieved it. Between the three women, there are over 65 years of experience they bring to the women who need them. Sue Bock, AKA Coach Sue, is a certified Life Transition Coach, Registered Nurse and breast cancer survivor. Sue is President of Courage to Adventure Coaching.com. Ms. Bock brings keen insight into all the transitions women go through.

“Women have a unique way of coming together in community.  There's support, camaraderie, and compassion.  Women in Transition provides that; there is learning who you are, and taking that information to brand yourself. When you've put that package together; the results are life changing,” says Ms. Bock.

Terri Hockett, founder of What’s for Work.com, the premiere site for empowered women, has created a unique career focused community that helps women find the work they love with support and tools needed for re-entry or transition. The community created, and tools for success are brought to the group’s events. Ms. Hockett is the conduit of resources for women struggling to realize how amazing life can be.

“Re-entering the workplace can be a daunting and lonely experience particularly for women because it is the one thing that we don’t like to talk about. I have found when we support one another in a social engaged community amazing things happen,” says Ms. Hockett.

The woman who brings ‘style’ to the mix is Carolyn Rovner, owner of C2 Style, a style consultation and personal shopping service. Carolyn guides her clients to discover their unique personal style. Ms. Rovner recommends appropriate looks for a variety of professional situations, such as networking events and informational interviews. Her focus for the Women in Transition workshop is to help women project a positive image.

“For the woman who has dedicated her life to raising her family, the Women in Transition workshop is a jumpstart to her next adventure. Find your passion, network with potential employers while looking and feeling your best; this is the perfect recipe for success,” says Ms. Rovner.

The New Year brought  a guest speaker to January’s workshop, Mary E. Knippel, speaker, author and founder of The Unleashed Homemaker™. She is passionate about helping women in transition find clarity to live their best life and create their own happily ever after. A two-time breast cancer survivor, she used writing and other creative tools in her recovery and chronicles the results in her upcoming book, The Secret Artist. Mary shares what she has learned to help you move from survive to thrive.
