PRLog - Jul. 15, 2014 - NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Stage on Broadway hosted a benefit concert to introduce Heart Songs for Veterans, an innovative community of artists who donate proceeds from new song releases to veteran organizations across the United States, to the Nashville community.  Sponsored by Broadway Entertainment and The Omni Nashville Hotel, The Iceman's Cavern Radio Show,  the event featured national spokesperson Sarah Buxton and her husband, Tom Bukovac, and included a surprise donation from Broadway Entertainment owner Rubel Sanderson.  Heart Songs for Veterans paid the full donation forward to www.serviceprotectiondogs.org  “It’s always a privilege when we can honor those who have so proudly served and protected our country,” said Tod Roadarmel, Director of  Sales & Marketing for the Omni Nashville Hotel. “We are happy to find ways to recognize current and former members of the military, whether that be by making a charitable contribution or by volunteering our time and support.

Buxton, along with Heart Songs for Veterans founder, Jill Pavel presented Wounded Warrior SGT Eric Hunter with the Heart Songs Veteran of the Year Award.  SGT Hunter is a U.S. Army soldier who was patrolling in Afghanistan on May 21st, 2012 when he stepped on an IED.  He was severely injured resulting in the loss of his right leg and is still undergoing multiple surgeries to save his left leg. SGT Hunter performed on stage with Heart Songs for Veteran & AMP artist Sam French (Atlanta, GA). Buxton also presented an award to Vietnam Veteran Mark Berry (Caanan, New Hampshire) and his Service Dog “Naya” during the evening’s festivities.

Heart Songs for Veterans has given our Veterans and soldiers a new voice.  I look forward to visiting Walter Reed Medical Center with Founder Jill Pavel and getting the chance to work with a soldier to write a song about  trust, love and saving lives.  Again, I am so honored to be a small part of this great organization."

Heart Songs for Veterans is a community of artists who donate their new song releases.  The artist roster currently hosts artists primarily in the Country and Rock arena. The proceeds from the song releases are then paid forward to Veteran and Wounded Warrior organizations across the nation.  The innovative programming was designed to promote awareness and funding for Veteran and Wounded Warrior organizations and provide scholarships and grants to help garner education and job opportunities in the music industry.  The Veteran inspired company was founded in November 2013 by Jill Pavel who has worked in the music industry in the capacity of management and digital media distribution.
