PRLog - Dec. 2, 2014 - MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Guitarist­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­, vocalist, and Birmingham, England native Denny Laine began his musical life with his own band, Denny and th­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­e Diplomats and later became famous for the classic Moody Blues song "Go Now". In 1971, Denny joined Paul McCartney to found the group known as Wings and would stay with them until 1981. Denny provided lead & rhythm guitars, backing vocals, keyboards, bass, writing and co-writing skills. Denny, Paul and Linda McCartney formed the nucleus of the band. It was with Wings that Denny enjoyed the biggest commercial and critical successes of his career, including co-writing the smash hit "Mull of Kintyre!”   Denny Laine will be in Memphis with The Cryers on Saturday December 6th at Neil’s Music Room performing the hits and more you have come to know and love over the years from his days with the Moody Blues and Wings!

Although backing Denny Laine The Cryers have quite a history of their own and will also be opening the evening of the 6th at Neil’s Music Room. One of the premier independent bands in America, The Cryers have performed with some of the legends of rock, such as Lawrence Juber of Wings, Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies, Joey Molland of Badfinger, Ian Mitchell of the Bay City Rollers, One of the premier independent bands in America, The Cryers have performed with some of the legends of rock, such as Lawrence Juber of Wings. Denny Laine is also touring with the British Invasion Tour with other greats Peter Asher (of Peter & Gordon), Chad & Jeremy, Billy J. Kramer, Mike Pender’s Searchers,
and Terry Sylvester (of the Hollies). Asher serves as host.

Denny is looking forward to performing in Memphis, “So many greats have come from and through Memphis, it is nice to be able to do shows like this in area’s we often are not in, seeing new sights, meeting new people, looking forward to Saturday at Neil’s.”

Mr. Laine will be in Memphis for a couple days prior to the show doing a press junket and taking in the sights and foods, one stop is the newly redesigned Hard Rock Café in its new location, Graceland, and more.
