When I graduated from The Art Institute of Boston in 1975, I went to the president of the school and asked, "Now that I have graduated what do I do now?"
(A question that might be better asked when you begin your studies.)

He said, "Do whatever you are able and for the rest of your life build a body of work that you will be proud of."

I was looking for some more specific direction that day but the lack of specifics allowed me to follow my own path, make my own choices and create the paintings as I wished that you see here in this book today.

Games: http://copplestonegames.com/

To create and entertain.
These games, gifts and brainteasers are designed to have the sculptural look of a work of art with the function of a dynamic and challenging game. Hand made in the USA. These games have been developed by craftsman / artist and inventor David Copplestone to achieve his goal - to create and entertain. The creative process, for these games, usually begins with the development of a game concept, or the development of a device to be used in a new game. Once the device is complete, the games that the device will be used in conjunction with, and the text to describe the game, are developed over what sometimes is a long period of time. This is commonly referred to as “a project on the back burner”. I hope when you play these games you experience some of the joy that I have had while developing them. They are not easy in order that they be a good measures of your abilities, your effort and your willingness to learn, he says.
