PRLog - Aug. 13, 2015 - The Diverse Supplier Development Academy (DSDA), a Connecticut non-profit organization that develops opportunities for diverse Connecticut-based businesses, is pleased to announce a partnership with the Women’s Business Center (WBC), University of Hartford.

“We are very happy to enter into this partnership with WBC,” explained Ronald C. Licata, Executive Director of the DSDA. “Their efforts to provide growth services to woman-owned businesses complement our efforts, and together create opportunities to serve even more woman- and minority-owned businesses.”

The DSDA will deliver custom development services, side-by-side with the WBC, to the women and diverse business owners who participate in the DSDA program. Based on an intense six-week series of strategy and growth topics, the program is complemented by executive mentorship and the resources needed by woman- and diverse-business owners to achieve a winning growth outcome. This combination allows the DSDA and WBC team of professionals to identify new avenues for the growth and success of participating businesses.

“Connecticut has one of the highest percentages of women-owned businesses in the country, at 28.1 percent,” stated Milena Erwin, Program Manager at the WBC. “The WBC specializes in serving women in business, and our continued development of these businesses is measured by the success they have. We are eager to partner with the DSDA and have the opportunity to strengthen our offering to women business owners in Connecticut.”

The DSDA, along with WBC, helps woman and diverse business owners:

- Obtain the hands-on business support they need now, next quarter, and next year

- Pair owners with a strategic business mentor who will help them execute their ideas

- Get the legal, financial, and marketing services they need to expand business

- Launch a clear path to growth and increased revenue.

The DSDA wraps all the business support services diverse owners need into one package. The DSDA will be hosting a breakfast meeting to provide more information on the next program, which begins in September 2015.

Diverse business owners interested in the program are invited to attend the August 19 orientation meeting to be held at the WBC in Hartford, CT. Please register at: bit.ly/Aug19DSDA.
