Exciting 8KM Course, Elite and Youth Races Set for River Ranch at Texas Horse Park
DALLAS - April 10, 2016 - PRLog -- BattleFrog, the nation's fastest growing Obstacle Course Race (OCR) Series announces that it will return to Dallas April 16, 2016 at the beautiful River Ranch at Texas Horse Park. This will be the first OCR event at this pristine venue featuring 6,000 acres of old-growth great trinity forest, just fifteen minutes southeast of downtown Dallas off the 175 freeway. Texas Horse Park is also home to a petting zoo, trail and pony rides. Tours will be available following the race.

This will be BattleFrog's second race in Dallas, following its enthusiastic reception from local athletes and families last May. BattleFrog's Operations Director Dean Joyce, a retired Navy Sea-Bee, is excited to bring the BattleFrog lifestyle back to Dallas. He said: "BattleFrog is a community that shares the core values of love of country, family, friends, fitness and the great outdoors. We enjoy putting on events in Dallas because so many special, patriotic and talented athletes come out with their friends and families. BattleFrog is fun for people of all fitness levels."

Design duties for this year's course fall to the popular BattleFrog elite racer-turned-Race-Director Adam Washburn. Washburn will take a signature Chris "Beard" Acord design and make it his own. Adam's creativity for rigs, obstacle placements and course flow will test grip strength and endurance, but will leave enough recovery time to enjoy the challenge. As at every BattleFrog, only elite-waves (prize eligible) are required to complete every obstacle. Participants, whom BattleFrog calls 'Battlers', are allowed as much time on the course as is necessary to finish and the community is supportive of new athletes with tips and assistance throughout the course.

The course will feature over twenty (20+) BattleFrog signature obstacles, including many newly designed aluminum obstacles that will be featured on the upcoming BattleFrog College Championship on ESPN. Family-friendly BattleFrog will host five events: The BattleFrog Extreme, challenging Battlers to complete the longest distance; the BattleFrog Elite, featuring 16 kilometers of fast paced action for prizes; the signature BattleFrog 8KM race for athletes and families; the BullFrog Mile for youths and the 400m tadpole dash for young children. New obstacles include one of the world's largest Platinum Rigs, a new Hooyah Water Slide and a re-designed Tip of the Spear encouraging participants to traverse a slanted wall. Local favorites including Beni Giffords and BattleFrog Pro Sarah Watson are expected to compete for first place in the BattleFrog elite.

This will be BattleFrog's first race in Dallas after implementing its industry leading Ambassador program. BattleFrog Ambassadors receive their own unique promo code, which they can share with friends and family to save $20 off all adult tickets and earn special rewards for themselves. To learn more about how to earn free races and save your friends money on admission to the Dallas race, please visit: http://battlefrogseries.com/get-involved/BFAmbassadors.

After their races, Families, friends and spectators meet in the BattleFrog Village which features music, refreshments, vendor displays, an obstacle bounce house and games. All Battlers receive a complimentary finisher's medal and t-shirt; adults receive 1 free beer ticket upon completion of the course. Come see for yourself why BattleFrog is the nation's fastest growing outdoor sporting event and find out why the country is saying "BattleFrog: Gotta Live It!"
