Anita Burnett, R.N. Poised to Help Bring Education to Patients and Community
PEORIA, Ill. & PEKIN, Ill. & CHAMPAIGN, Ill. & WASHINGTON, Ill. - April 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Trinity Compassionate Care Centers, a medical cannabis dispensary dedicated to patient quality of care and providing education to patients and the community in Illinois, recently launched its newly-created Patient Care Support Department. The new department will be devoted to responding to daily questions Trinity Compassionate Care Centers receives about qualifying conditions and the availability of physicians willing to complete a recommendation for the Medical Cannabis Pilot Program (MCPP) application. To help in this effort, Trinity has named Anita Burnett, R.N., as its Patient Care Support Director. In this newly-created position, Burnett will work in partnership with Trinity Compassionate Care Centers' management and staff to bridge the gap between MCPP qualifying patients and the medical field - physicians recommending, studying and researching medical cannabis and medical cannabis therapy.

The Patient Care Support Department will assist in the MCPP application process from beginning to end. Patients can receive education on qualification requirements, aid in gathering all needed materials for the application and access to a directory of physicians who support medical cannabis. The department will also provide additional education and support for individual cannabis therapy plans to ensure patients receive maximum benefits.

Burnett joins Trinity Compassionate Care Centers with 25 years of experience in the medical field and over five years as an advocate for medical cannabis as a natural alternative to mainstream pharmaceuticals. Her desire to learn more about cannabis as a medicine began when her mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Burnett's interest only grew once she learned about the endocannabinoid system.

"Anita's experience and passion for quality patient care makes her a valuable asset to the Trinity Compassionate Care family," said Ron DiGiacomo, VP of Operations at Trinity. "Her passion and knowledge of the endocannabinoid system will contribute significantly to the level of patient care and advancement of the industry."

Burnett is very excited and passionate about sharing her knowledge with both patients and healthcare professionals. She is confident that education is vital in the medical cannabis industry and proud to be part of the Trinity Compassionate Care Centers Education Department. "My goal is to help any patient who qualifies under state guidelines get the natural medicine they deserve."
