GOLDEN, Colo. - April 27, 2016 - PRLog -- An exciting new event will debut this summer for those that live, work and play in Jefferson County. The new Jeffco Fair & Festival will be held August 11 - 14, 2016 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds where event attendees can expect a dash of fun, interactive, engaging and traditional experiences with a focus on locality to ensure there is something for everyone.
The Jeffco Fair & Festival will be divided into multiple "zones," or areas, with immersive, educational and entertaining experiences for all ages. Here's a rundown of elements that attendees will encounter when visiting the Jeffco Fair & Festival.
Fair Central
Every day event attendees will help open the new Jeffco Fair & Festival at the daily rope drop ceremony. As guests explore Fair Central they will learn about agriculture and farming in the Ag-venture exhibit, visit the Jeffco Art Gallery and check out the Open Class competitions where professionals and amateurs of all ages showcase their creative skills. Then attendees can take in one of the many Tent Talks where the community comes together to spread awareness and share ideas through short conversations and demonstrations that inspire and inform.
Expo Plaza
Over the course of the event, this area will offer a different experience each day that matches with the different themed days. From the District Attorney's Community Safety Fair to additional educational experiences for kids, the Expo Plaza will have guests visiting the Jeffco Fair & Festival again and again to check out all of these different offerings.
The Hub
Featuring two concert stages, guests can expect live entertainment opportunities that are as diverse as the event itself. For the beer connoisseur, event attendees can visit the Jeffco Brew Experience while they enjoy the event's entertainment line-up.
Be Wild, Jeffco
Discover the outdoor adventures that Jefferson County has to offer for all ages and interests. Jeffco Open Space, along with parks and recreation districts and local outdoor organizations, come together for an experience that celebrates Jefferson County's nature-based experiences and outdoor recreation opportunities in a fun and interactive way. Get ready to Be Wild, Jeffco!
Jeffco Then & Now
Jefferson County has a history rich in people, events and progress. Come learn about and celebrate Jefferson County's history and culture through interactive exhibits and with businesses and local community groups. Take a step back into the Old West to experience some of the early residents who helped put the "wild" in the wild, wild west and belly up to the bar in the custom saloon.
4-H & FFA Farm
Event attendees can check out livestock from 4-H and Future Farmers of America, get an up-close and personal experience in the Petting Farm and kids will have a blast at the Chick-fil-A Kidz Korral.
Rodeo Arena
An exciting line-up of special events awaits event guests.
• On Thursday, kick off the weekend with the Jeffco Fair & Festival Opening Ceremonies.
• Snuggle up under the stars for Family Movie Night on Thursday night.
• Whether guests are avid fans or new to the sport of rodeo, everyone will love the family-friendly Rodeo 101 event on Friday.
• A fun-filled Mutton Bustin' competition will excite the crowd on Friday and Saturday nights.
• Check out the toughest sport on dirt at Friday night's Bull Riding and Freestyle Bull Fighting event.
• Dust off your boots and hats and get ready for Saturday night's Colorado Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) Rodeo.
