Stackspace to Demonstrate Its Flagship Service Offering at Spark Summit 2016, Booth F8
MCLEAN, Va. - June 1, 2016 - PRLog -- Stackspace (www.stackspace.io), a Data Science Orchestration Platform that simplifies data analysis for faster business decisions, announced today that data analysis consulting firm, Data Society (www.datasociety.co), is the latest user of its Stackspace offering. Data Society relies on Stackspace to set up big data systems, using the computing power of the cloud to process enterprise data for complicated predictive analysis on diverse types and large amounts of data.

Stackspace will demonstrate its data science orchestration platform at the Spark Summit, in booth F8 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, June 6-8, 2016.

The emerging technology market of "Data Science Orchestration" makes it easy for data scientists with massive amounts of data to customize and use enterprise systems from scratch in minutes, and to conduct analytics practically at the touch of a button. The Stackspace Data Science Orchestration platform goes farther, with a marketplace of open source big data tools, data pipelines and configurations that users can put to work almost immediately.

"Stackspace users can choose from a marketplace of open source options for their own customized distribution, with combination of systems to suit their needs," said Stackspace co-founder Dave Hirko. Brad Kolarov, the company's other co-founder, added, "Stackspace ensures security by deploying in the users' own cloud environments, and never escrows or consumes customer data."

In Data Society's case, the system was configured to work within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.

According to Dmitri Adler, Data Society's co-founder and Chief Data Scientist,

Stackspace lets Data Society's team of data scientists use familiar tools on their laptops, but with the sophistication and scale previously only possible with dedicated data center resources.

"The beauty of the Stackspace platform is its simplicity," Adler said. "You can connect with a social media platform, power up a space and select the options you need. Once that's up and running, you select the stack or software you want and define hardware specs." The entire process, from setting up a system to ingesting and analyzing data, took less than 10 minutes - it's data center power with laptop convenience, Adler noted.

"I really like Stackspace's broad array of functionality for analyzing data," said Adler. He noted that the team at Data Society often works with hundreds of gigabytes and terabytes of data at once - many times more than the processing power available on a laptop.

"In the past I've been constricted by the RAM in my computers when working with data. Now I'm able to securely do the work in the cloud, and use the computing power of AWS for my analysis (the equivalent of 360 gigabytes of RAM, in one case)."

"I can process data sets from my laptop in ways I was never able to before," Adler said.
