LOS ANGELES - Nov. 7, 2017 - PRLog -- Today mobile fiction platform Bound is publishing the final three episodes of "Purgatorio," a sci-fi adventure series by award-winning author John Shirley, based on the "Midnight Star: Renegade" mobile game universe created by game studio Industrial Toys and best-selling author John Scalzi. The free Bound app, available for iOS with an Android version coming soon, combines prose, art, and audio with community features in geeky genres ranging from sci-fi and fantasy to thrillers.

"I was thrilled to work on this stage of Bound, to take part in the launch of a new, lightning-swift access to fiction, cool visuals and fun wordage," said author John Shirley. "And it was great to work on Purgatorio within the Midnight Star world, not least because of John Scalzi's input. He's a midnight star of science fiction."

"Purgatorio" follows a military research crew as they seek answers to mysteries left behind by a space-faring civilization that went missing 22,000 years ago. All twenty-six episodes of the first season of "Purgatorio" are now available for free for fans to listen to or read and features original art and supplemental sourcebook materials.

Industrial Toys founder Alexander Seropian noted, "We poured our hearts into creating the Midnight Star universe and it's great to have John Shirley grab the baton and continue exploring it. And Bound is the perfect platform for these stories - episodic, richly formatted and mobile - right there on your screen next to the game. It's just an ideal fit."

Bound debuted earlier this year with exclusive content based on the sci-fi time-traveling novel "The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O." by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland. The app also features content from acclaimed creators such as best-selling thriller author Eliot Peper, former Pixar and Telltale Games creative Stephan Bugaj, and award-winning game writer Matt Entin.
