Photography startup Lytro to shut down, with some employees reportedly headed to Google

Private investors poured some $200 million into Lytro. The startup turned heads 10 years ago when it debuted a way for photographers to shoot images first and decide on the focus they wanted wanted later, and went on to amass 59 patents for its technology.
