MIAMI - April 13, 2018 - PRLog -- On May 11th, Dranoff presents "Classical & Jazz for 2 pianos from Cuba to Miami & Back" with top Cuban piano duo Manuel Valera are and Orlando Alonso in their journey to great Cuban classical and jazz works of Ignacio Cervantes, Ernesto Lecuona, Dafnis Prieto, Martin Bejerano, and a brand new 2 piano work celebrating the 100th birthdays of Cuban Masters Israel "Cachao" Lopez and Bebo Valdes composed by Manuel Valera.
The dazzling and brilliant concert of Cuban classics will take place on-stage in the Black Box of Miami Dade County Auditorium at 7:30PM followed by a Cuban music and food celebration with the artists. Miami Dade County Auditorium has a splendid history as South Florida's premiere performing arts center. Today, its on-stage Black Box presents top Hispanic, Latin, World music theater and dance.
Based in New York City, Grammy-nominated artist, pianist, and composer Manuel Valera was born and raised in Havana Cuba. In the U.S. he's become well-known in the NYC modern Jazz scene garnering national reviews and lending his talents as a pianist and composer to Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D'Rivero, Dafnis Prieto among others.
Also based in New York and Havana born, Orlando Alonso has a flourishing international career in Classical orchestral and recital performances at Carnegie Hall and great concert venues in North and South America and Europe. Noted for his gorgeous, but challenging programs and versatility his repertoire ranges from Bach, Beethoven and Brahms to works of Cuban Classical and Jazz greats.
