Fashion designer Kate Spade found dead in NYC

Fashion icon and designer Kate Spade attended the University of Kansas and St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City. She launched her line of signature handbags in 1993 and opened her first shop in New York City in 1996. Most recently, she helped found a new brand, Frances Valentine.
