On Sept. 26th, Commercial Aviation Forum AIR Convention 2018 has officially started. Positioning itself as one of the most promising aviation events, AIR Convention commercial aviation forum brought key players from airlines, airports, aviation training companies, and most prominent aircraft manufacturers, like Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier – all in order to allow participants to share expertise and network with aviation leaders.
Commercial Aviation Forum was opened by the speech of Gediminas Ziemelis. Andrew Gordon, the Director of Strategic Marketing & Analysis at Airbus, also highlighted that 2018 was the year of high profitability for the global aviation, defined by more movements, more connectivity, more seats and more seats filled. However, considering the further aviation market growth, as Marta Sabin de Imperial from Bombardier noticed in her presentation, the long-term strategies is where the growth will be.
The living legend of aviation Steven Hazy continued the aviation market overview and especially distinguished the emerging aviation markets of 2018 and 2019. He also expressed optimism about the Baltics market’s perspectives and said aviation industry growth is to follow in this highly educated region.
Quite obviously, to ensure healthy industry growth not only in the Baltics but globally, the existing problems and challenges of the market must be foreseen and well-timed. Since one of the most looming issues now is the growing demand for pilots, aviation technicians and cabin crew, aviation industry is now in a desperate need of new qualified people. The issue requires a system of different approaches to deal with. However, as Espen Hoiby the CEO of OSM Aviation pointed out - the primary need is to reinvent the very dream of a pilot career itself.
