Lakefront Family Dentistry, the renowned Lake Elsinore dentistry practice, announced today that it has hired its second Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Function, Expanded Duties Level II (RDAEF-II). The addition of this new assistant, named Angela, shows how the private practice is growing. It takes significant training and education to be credentialled in this role.

An RDAEF-II must perform all the duties of a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) but is also expected to be able to perform charting, make preliminary assessments of oral health, examine soft tissue and place sealants on teeth in certain circumstances. In order to qualify for the RDAEF-II credential, an RDA must take extensive coursework in allowed duties, radiation safety, infection control, dental law and more. Written and clinical exams are also required.
