SoCal Singer Releases New Christmas Song Promoting a "Virtuous Virtual Christmas"

By: Issuewire

Simple message: If you celebrate Christmas, remember why it started and recognize the specialness of others!

San Diego, Dec 10, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Lou Ward, an Escondido, CA singer, has written a new Christmas single, "It's That Kind of Season", along with a music video. The song makes a simple request: if you celebrate Christmas, just remember why it started! Even if you give materialistic gifts that satisfy wants, make sure you give meaningful, priceless, motivational messages too! It's the perfect time to start a new tradition: having "Priceless Christmases" - giving precious gifts that money can't buy!

Going by the stage name, Loudawaju, Ward explains that so many Christmas songs focus on love relationships and the materialistic aspects of the holiday while the celebration of being of service to others is often overlooked or ignored. He hopes the impact of the song will remind everyone that we should:
put forth an extra effort to take the time to recognize the inspirational traits shown by those we care for and make sure to find a way to tell them what those traits are.

Ward pointed out that, even if a person plans to give gifts, it would be wonderful if some time was taken to write an inspirational message. For example, "I am amazed at your tenacity and how you hang in there until whatever task you are assigned is completed successfully!"

Ward also wants people to recognize how many things in our lives are taken for granted, especially in this year of Covid. With so many people suffering financial hardships and limits on various travel restrictions, a lot of people will be sharing "virtual" Christmases as they did with "virtual" Thanksgivings". He explained that a lot of people are realizing how much they miss being in the physical presence of each other and how precious it just to be with loved ones and friends.

The music video definitely has a Southern California flavor filmed in Escondido, CA with the approval of Escondido City Hall and The California Center for the Arts as filming locations. He shared the story of the song's origin: "In September of 1992, Jeff McCullough, music engineer and producer, and I were in the studio and were discussing the overall trend of Christmas toward commercialism with the songs following this trend. He suggested that I write a Christmas song that would remind people of the origin of Christmas and that we should prioritize practicing goodwill and humility every day."

28 years later, the song is more relevant than ever. So in January, I told Jeff it was time to share "It's That Kind of Season" with the world. So here it is.

Artist bio
Loudawaju is the stage name for singer/songwriter Lou Ward. He has released two singles in 2020: the Christmas single, "It's That Kind of Season", recorded in January 2020 after originally being written in 1992; and "I've Got To Try To Say Goodbye", a ballad greatly influenced by the passing of Kobe Bryant.

Ward cites as main artistic influences such legends as Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, and Al Green. He has been singing since early childhood. He began penning his own songs in high school, through college, and during his 10 year US Navy career. He was signed to an artist agreement with Sony in 1992, but it didn't work out at that time. Ward accepted the circumstances as a life indicator directing him to dedicate himself to his wife and family and focus on the responsibility of being a family man. But he's back and sharing old-school style feel-good music!
