Indore astrologer to sue Tata Sky for running 'Astro Duniya' channel

Noted astrologer of the city Rajeev Prakash Agarwal has accused Tata Sky of violating intellectual property rights. In this regard, he has issued notice to Tata Sky management and planning to move the court against the company.

INDORE, India - Feb. 6, 2021 - PRLog -- Rajeev Prakash Agarwal, who has been running the Astrology web portal under the name AstroDunia.Com for the last 16 years and legally owns its domain name, while talking to media persons here today accused the DTH company of launching Astro Duniya channel with a similar name owned by him and it amounts to a violation of the Intellectuals Property Rights.

Talking about his company, Agarwal said that for the last 16 years, he has been running AstroDunia.com web portal and have been writing articles about the impact of planets in the world and society. The subscribers of my web portal Astro Dunia are not located within India but around the world and they are very upset with the copying of this name and running a channel in this name, the senior astrologer said.

He said that apart from the website, he also has a YouTube channel named Astro Dunia. Along with this, he has done various programs with this name on many regional TV channels a number of times. Videos of these programs telecast on TV channels are available as evidence on YouTube.

Agarwal said that not only does he own the domain under the name Astro Dunia but he has also applied for the trademark of this name. In such a case, the use of this name by another company is a violation of intellectual property rights.

The astrologer said that in this context, he had also sent a legal notice to the management, but they have apparently mocked at our legal notice on the plea that we are a very small company with very little revenue. Now we are going to file a lawsuit against Tata Sky in the High Court so as to stop them from running the channel under the name Astro Duniya, Agarwal added.
