We asked Matt Boone about his new single and here is what he told our reporters, "The song means the world to me. It speaks volumes about my music, my dad, and growing up in a musical household. I wanted to project a story through the words of music, like a mini-biography. I had not written much in the past few years and losing my Dad made me put my emotional thoughts and memories to paper. My dad lived in a small town in West Tennessee on the corner of Moore and Main Street for years, so the Main Street idea came from the sermon that was delivered by his sister at his last eternal celebration. It seemed only fitting to title this song "Main Street Heaven" his new Main Street address. If you have ever lost a father, grandfather, or anyone important in your life I pray this song will help you feel better in some way."
Boone continues, "As you will hear in verse two, He bought my first flat-top guitar when I was five years old... That is where it all begins for me musically with an old $10.00 thrift store acoustic guitar, with two strings, I found my love of music. Dad was also a singer as well as a harmonica player, I just thought music was the coolest thing throughout childhood. In the lyrics, He swelled up with so much pride when he heard me on the radio... He always told me to follow my heart and never give up on music because it would always be there for me. I remember being on the radio for the first time and he got to hear it. He was extremely happy! He was right because writing, singing, and recording this song got me through those tough times.
I remember seeing rainbows every day for a week straight after his passing, it was almost like a sign of happiness and acceptance for me. They always said that music is what feelings sound like. I think you will agree once you set your ears upon 'Main Street Heaven.' It blew me away and that is the power of a song, long live good music!"
This incredibly touching song was recorded at the legendary Omni Sound Studio with all pro-musicians Kitt Wakeley on piano, who also produced the project, and who has many incredible successes. Derek Wells (played on over 50 #1 hits/played for Josh Turner), Joe Spivey (bandleader/fiddle player for John Anderson, Scotty Sanders and played on hundreds of songs from every country artist you can imagine), Mark Hill (played for Keith Urban/Martina McBride/Reba and is a 5 ACM bass of the year nominee), and Evan Hutchings (ACM drummer of the year nominee).
Matt Boone is an American independent country music recording artist and songwriter signed to Cavalla Records. Boone became a performer at the early age of 8 and made his debut as an artist in Nashville in 2009 near the Opryland music valley drive area at local venues.
