On April 1, 2008, The E.W. Scripps Company (the “Company”) announced the appointment of Timothy E. Stautberg as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the E. W. Scripps Company when the Company’s pending separation is completed later this year. Mr. Stautberg will succeed Joseph G. NeCastro, who will become executive vice president and chief financial officer of Scripps Networks Interactive Inc., the company that will be created in the separation transaction. A copy of the press release announcing Mr. Stautberg’s appointment is filed as Exhibit 99.01.
