(c) On March 2, 2010, HealthMarkets, Inc. (the “Company”) appointed Anurag Chandra as the Company’s
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. From October 15, 2008 to March 2, 2010, Mr.
Chandra, 32, served as the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
The terms of Mr. Chandra’s employment agreement and compensation arrangements with the Company, as
previously disclosed by the Company, remain unchanged.
