On November 4, 2008, Mariner Energy, Inc. issued a press release that announced results for the
third quarter ended September 30, 2008, provided an operational update, and gave information about
a conference call to discuss these matters. The call is scheduled for November 5, 2008 at 4:00
p.m. Eastern Time (3:00 p.m. Central Time). A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit
