Tencent reported 2025 revenue of RMB 751.77 billion, with fourth-quarter revenue reaching RMB 194.37 billion, while its Weixin and WeChat ecosystem grew to 1.418 billion monthly active users by the end of December 2025. The company also said capital expenditure reached about RMB 79 billion in 2025, as it continued to expand AI and cloud-related investment. Tencent Cloud achieved full-year scale profitability, supported by AI demand, product innovation and supply-chain improvements.
Tencent said Video Accounts recorded more than 20 percent year-on-year growth in total user time spent, helped by upgraded recommendation algorithms and a richer content ecosystem. The company also reported RMB 229.43 billion in annual revenue from financial technology and enterprise services, an area increasingly tied to cloud services and WeChat-based commerce capabilities.
Gogetop Marketing said the results suggest WeChat is evolving further beyond communications and payments into a broader operating environment for content distribution, customer engagement and commercial conversion.
"Platforms such as WeChat are increasingly functioning as infrastructure, not just channels," said Ann Zhu, spokesperson for Gogetop Marketing. "What stands out in Tencent's latest results is the extent to which AI, commerce tools and content ecosystems are being connected inside one platform environment."
Reuters reported that Tencent plans to increase AI investment further in 2026, underscoring the strategic importance of AI-enabled services across its ecosystem. Gogetop Marketing said the direction of travel matters for brands, agencies and technology providers tracking how China's largest digital platforms are combining AI deployment, commerce tools and audience scale.
