V.H. Blackinton & Co. Inc., the leading U.S. manufacturer of public safety badges and uniform insignia, introduces its new SecureShift® State Seal Program. SecureShift® is a color shifting technology currently used to protect 80% of the world’s currency, and now it will be used to combat counterfeit badges and police impersonators. The new Blackinton® SecureShift® State Seal will have unique microflakes embedded into the blue enamel rims of these full-color state seals. By slightly turning the seal the microflakes will create an obvious color shifting effect, from blue to purple. This subtle yet unmistakable color-shift is visible and verifiable by the naked eye, thus helping to ensure badge authenticity by an officer, the public, or an agent. Incorporating badges with SecureShift® technology is both easy and cost effective, since many departments use a state seal on their badge.

SecureShift® Technology was developed by the Flex Products Group of JDS Uniphase Corporation. Blackinton® is the only badge manufacturer in the world licensed and authorized to use this technology.
