Kimball Electronics Honored with Leadership Award for Sustainability; Presented by Customer Johnson Controls, Inc.

Proving that concern for the environment and customers go hand-in-hand, Kimball Electronics Group, a globally-ranked contract electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company, has been honored by customer Johnson Controls, Inc. with that company’s Leadership Award for Sustainability. The recognition was announced during Johnson Control’s 16th annual North American Supplier Performance Awards ceremony. Kimball Electronics Group (KEG) is a subsidiary of Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB), specializing in durable electronics for the automotive industry.

Kimball Electronics was one of only six suppliers, out of the entire Johnson Controls Inc. North American Automotive Experience supplier base, to receive a leadership award. According to Johnson Controls, this honor is awarded to a supplier considered to be a leader in its business practices for sustainability in environmental impact. A supplier is only eligible if it demonstrates meeting the criteria in a fashion that sets it apart and above its peers.

The award recognizes Kimball Electronics for:

• embrace of sustainability as a core value of the company,
• conduct of business in a safe, sustainable manner, complying with laws and regulations,
• focus on reducing the Company’s carbon footprint in its activities and operations,
• achievement of top tier scores in the Johnson Controls Supplier Scorecard for Sustainability,
• participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project.
