Phillips 66 Announces Increase in Regular Dividend and Expanded Share Repurchase Plan

The board of directors of Phillips 66 (NYSE: PSX) has approved a 25 percent increase in the company’s dividend, effective in the first quarter of 2013, representing an annual dividend of $1.25 per share of common stock. Phillips 66’s board of directors has also approved an additional $1 billion share repurchase which augments the $1 billion share repurchase plan announced in the third quarter of 2012.

“This increase in our annual dividend and expansion of our share repurchase plan is another important milestone in our strategy for value creation,” said Phillips 66 Chairman and CEO Greg Garland. “Our disciplined capital allocation and strong operating cash flow enable us to continue returning capital to our shareholders.”

The company may commence, suspend or discontinue purchases of common stock under the $2 billion program at any time or periodically without prior notice. Phillips 66 anticipates funding the repurchases primarily with cash generated by its operations. Shares of stock repurchased will be held as treasury shares.
