After some time was expended with this activity we had a light meal followed by cake and ice cream. Usually presents were then opened and then it was time to go home.
Things have changed in this day and age. Bounce houses, magicians and balloon artists are now an indication of today's celebration of a birthday -- for the young set anyway. There are clowns who do some magic and there are magicians who do slight of hand and close-up tricks, but there is also Charlie Fass (Mister Illusion) who will levitate the birthday child right in your own living room. It makes a terrific photo opportunity and creates a true magical feeling for the magical birthday day. The birthday child need not rehearse for the illusion, and even with that he or she becomes the star of the show.
We asked Charlie Fass if this illusion can be done for an adult birthday party and he said that his equipment will work even for a three hundred pound adult. We also asked if there are other stage illusions which he can perform at an event and he said that he has apparatus for vanishing and appearing, sawing in half, levitation with vanishing in mid air, straight jacket escapes, U.S. Mail Bag escapes and handcuff escapes. These types of illusions can be added to any standard magic show package.
According to Charlie Fass, there is a shortage of laughter in today's world. It is also good to forget reality for a while, and it is his goal to correct any laughter/fun shortage by performing as often as possible. He has performed from coast to coast, on a cruise ship, and even in Europe.
