The Track Will Be Released Through Kobalt Music, A Modern Alternative to the Traditional Music Business Model
LOS ANGELES - July 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Ever the optimist, even in the midst of the darkest trials of his life and career, Jerad Finck wrote his powerful and provocative anthem "Runaway" about not giving up on your dreams, no matter how hard things get, and dealing with his issues head on instead of trying to escape them. Continuing on his quest to live out the vision of that song, the hardworking Spokane, WA singer-songwriter is set to release his highly anticipated latest single "Criminal (Stripped)" on July 29.
The track, an acoustic version of the infectious power-pop ballad that appears on Jerad's 2015 EP Criminal, was produced by David Hodges, a onetime member of Evanescence who has previously worked with Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Avril Lavigne, Christina Perri and many others.
"Criminal (Stripped)" will be released through Kobalt Music, a modern alternative to the traditional music model that empowers creators with flexible contracts, ownership, control and total transparency. Kobalt creates technology for a more transparent, efficient and empowering future for rights owners, where artists, songwriters, publishers and labels can trust that they will be paid fairly and accurately in this complex digital world. Kobalt's innovative technology includes the world's most advanced global licensing, collection and payment platform, a YouTube song matching tool Proklaim, one of the leading global digital music distribution platforms AWAL and the award winning real time data and insight reporting Portal.
The EP Criminal also included collaborations and co-writes by Jerad and producers Steven Miller (Pink, Dave Matthews Band, Switchfoot) and Nathan Meckel.
At one point in 2011, "Runaway" was the #1 independent song in the country, peaking at #3 on the Adult Contemporary Chart, #42 in Hot AC and #25 on the Hot AC Indicator Chart. While inspiring popular remixes by Ajax and DJ Lynnwood (that appeared on later editions of Jerad's Anthony Resta produced EP Stuck In Your Riddle), the song was used by the NBA and NHL as the backdrop to videos created for each league's finals that celebrated wins by the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Bruins.
Since releasing his self-titled, John Seymour produced debut album, Jerad's been on the road practically non-stop, opening for and/or touring with Daughtry, Christina Perri, Edwin McCain, DADA, Vertical Horizon, Parachute, One EskimO, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Hires, Red Wanting Blue, Ron Pope, Cracker, Ingram Hill, Tony Lucca and many others.
The singer's special performances include Live In The Vineyard, Hotel Carolina, SXSW, Indie Week Toronto, The Rock Boat XII, and Balcony TV. Jerad has also been featured in over fifty newspapers and magazines, including CMJ, Skope, American Songwriter, Amplifier and Acoustic Magazine. He and his band have performed on dozens of morning TV shows on NBC, CBS, ABC & FOX, and his songs have been featured in films and TV shows on HBO, ESPN, Discovery, CBS & NBC, among others.
