Studio follow-up to GRAMMY®-nominated 'Here in Babylon' slated for August release

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - May 27, 2021 - PRLog -- Blue Heart Records is pleased to announce the signing of singer and keyboard player Teresa James. The Houston, Texas native was introduced to music at an early age by her father and grandfather, both old school guitar players. She began playing piano at age five and hasn't stopped since. Together with husband Terry Wilson, who writes and produces their music, Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps have released eleven albums, including Here in Babylon (2018), which was GRAMMY-nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

The Rhythm Tramps band was originally formed by Terry Wilson and Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal) when the two were living in London in the 70's and touring with the rock band, Back Street Crawler (featuring the legendary Paul Kossoff on guitar and John 'Rabbit' Bundrick on keyboards). They missed playing the Texas style blues they had grown up with so formed a band to play in local pubs. James and Wilson relocated to Los Angeles in the 80's and continued the tradition with a band of world class players who have toured or recorded with such artists as Eric Burdon & the Animals, Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, Jimmy Reed, Lightin' Hopkins, Jimmy Vaughan, Johnny Nash, Smokey Robinson, Tom Jones, Tower Of Power and many more. Their songs have been recorded by many other artists. In 2008, James received a Blues Music Award nomination for Contemporary Female Blues Artist of the Year.

Now, having returned to the studio in follow-up to their GRAMMY-nomination, Wilson again takes his spot in the producer's chair with a treasure trove of new music he has written during the pandemic. James and Wilson saw a unique opportunity while all of their touring musical friends were grounded to invite an assortment of stellar artists as special guests on the tracks. Featured artists include Kevin McKendree and Yates McKendree; plus Anson Funderburgh, David Millsap, Dean Parks, Lee Roy Parnell, James Pennebaker, Johnny Lee Schell, and Snuffy Walden, all hailing from Texas. The first segment of the aptly named musical collection, Rose Colored Glasses, Vol. One, is slated for August 20, 2021 release.

"Being involved with such a successful and accomplished husband and wife team is truly an honor," says Betsie Brown, Blue Heart Records partner. "Having worked with them on their previous two releases, I am thrilled to present yet another unique recording, this time in partnership with our label."

"We are so excited about this new record and very happy to be teaming up with Blue Heart Records! Having released several CDs on our own, it is such a joy to find a label that is so easy to work with and that is so tuned in to today's market. Really looking forward to working together!" says Teresa James.

"Teresa's voice is all-knowing, like she's been to the places most of us aren't able to go. It is a mixture of rejection and redemption, ... be glad there are still people like Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps who care enough to do this and share their spirits." ~ Bill Bentley, Sonic Boomers
