The Ascension Ceremony of The Black Wood Buddha Statue, Pagodas and The Late Venerable Sayadaw U Kittivara Statute.

(WAki International Media Center 24th April) The speech of Venerable Sayadaw U Sandobhasa on 16th March 2022.

Congratulations to the Waki Relic Musuem on the ascension ceremony of the Black Wood Buddha statue, Buddha statute, pagodas, and the late Venerable Sayadaw U Kittivara Statute.

Three years ago on this full moon day, the late Sayadaw U Kittivara, who passed away 8 months ago, received the title of “Aggamahasaddhammajotika-dhaja” in Uppatasanti Pagoda Hall in Nay Pyi Taw by the government of the Union of Myanmar in 2020 in honour to his efforts to promote Buddhism. The late Sayadaw would be receiving the Abhidhaja Agghamahasadhamajotika if Sayadaw lived to 80 years old. Although 3 years have passed, I still remember the words and saying told by the late Sayadaw. In order to pay respect to the late Sayadaw, the President of Waki Relic Musuem and Waki International families built the statute of the late Sayadaw, offered puja to the Buddha Statute and pagodas, as well as food and dana offering to the sangha members in Parami temple.

It is a great fortune for people who practice giving (dana) and Buddha’s noble Eightfold Path, which lead to good results and increase merits.

The Chairman of WAKI and Waki International family practised the teaching of Buddha by doing the meritorious deeds on this full moon day. They built the Buddha Statutes, pagoda and the late Sayadaw’s statutes in conjunction to the 100-day memorial of the late Sayadaw, besides giving alms to the monks and nuns at Wan Taw Pyae Monastery for 7 days.  I am so glad to be invited to join the events. Today, in the ascension ceremony of the statute of the late Sayadaw U Kittivara, I represent the Sangha members of the monastery to deliver our appreciation and we are glad to see you continue to develop the Musuem, which was established and the relics worshiped by the late Sayadaw. Whatever you do, follow the advice of the late Sayadaw.  Sayadaw always taught us that “Whatever you do, do it with good intentions, good actions and good heart that will lead you to good results”. The Relic Musuem was built by the late Sayadaw and it is still worshiped until today. Therefore, we also get a lot of meritorious deeds.

Lastly, I am glad that Dr. Teo Choo Guan and Waki International family are working hand in hand with Parami Temple to carry on with the mission of the late Sayadaw to preserve and enshrine the Relics or Dhatu to prolong the Buddha Sassana.

May all devotees be healthy and wealthy,

May all devotees be freed from diseases and danger,

May all Waki International Family support the Buddha sassana,

May all good deeds you have done lead you to attain Nibbana.

Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.
