Kimball International Promotes Schroeder; Michelle Schroeder Appointed Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer

Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB) announces the promotion of Michelle R. Schroeder to the position of Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer for this global manufacturer of electronic components and commercial furniture, headquartered in southern Indiana. Schroeder has been the Company’s Vice President, Corporate Controller since 2004 and has responsibility for worldwide accounting and financial reporting, including Securities & Exchange Commission filings and internal management accounting. She will take on added responsibilities for corporate taxation, including worldwide tax planning and compliance.

Schroeder (44) began her career with Kimball in 1984, serving in several Marketing administrative roles before taking a leave in 1993 to pursue a degree in Accounting. She returned in 1996 as a Financial Analyst and held several additional accounting roles leading to her appointment as Vice President, Corporate Controller in 2004.

Kimball International CFO and Executive Vice President Robert Schneider expressed his confidence in Schroeder, stating, “Michelle’s background in operations and technical training combine to give her a unique perspective that is very important in establishing financial processes and metrics that drive improved operating performance and are also accurate with respect to our external reporting. She has been very effective in her leadership of our accounting teams over the years and will likewise be a strong leader of corporate tax.”

Schroeder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana (USI), and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). She and her husband, Greg, reside in Jasper.
