SANTA ROSA, CA / ACCESS Newswire / October 2, 2026 / Siyan Clinical Corporation today introduced Siyan Stride, a walking and wellness app created by psychiatrist Dr. Anish S. Shah to help people build a routine they can sustain. The app brings daily activity and self-reported wellbeing together in one place, pairing personal walking goals with a brief daily check-in on body, energy and mood.

Whether it is an older adult staying active, someone rebuilding a routine after a difficult period, or a family looking for a simple way to encourage one another, the starting point is the same: a short, doable walk. Stride helps users follow through, see their progress and notice how they feel alongside their activity.

"A step count tells you how much someone moved. It does not tell you how they are doing," said Dr. Shah, CEO and Medical Director of Siyan Clinical Corporation. "We built Stride to bring those two things together, so people can pay attention to their routines and find a reason to keep going."

A clinical perspective on everyday habits

Dr. Shah brings more than 25 years of psychiatric practice to the app's design. Stride reflects something he sees often in clinical care: keeping up a daily routine is hardest when motivation and energy are low. Its adjustable goals, guided plans and simple check-ins are designed to make starting-and returning after a missed day-easier.

Stride gives users a running record of their activity and self-reported wellbeing that they can choose to share with family or discuss with a clinician. It does not detect a relapse, diagnose a condition or establish that walking caused a change in mood.

"Healthy routines need support between appointments," Dr. Shah said. "Our goal is to make that support practical: a walk you can manage, a moment to check in with yourself, and encouragement from people you trust."

A pocket companion for staying well

Stride is one part of a larger effort at Siyan. Dr. Shah's long-term aim is to help prevent mental illness and relapse by making healthy coping a daily habit rather than something people reach for only in a crisis. Toward that goal, Siyan is building a growing set of simple, clinically informed apps: a pocket companion people can carry with them between appointments and well beyond them.

"In psychiatry, we often meet people after they are already struggling. I want us to reach them earlier," Dr. Shah said. "Moving your body, sleeping well, managing stress and staying close to the people who matter are some of the best protection we have against illness and relapse. Our goal is to put those tools in people's pockets, so the pursuit of healthy coping becomes part of everyday life."

Perspectives from the Siyan team

"Sometimes, taking that first step is what begins to build momentum," said Dr. Amruta Shanbhag, a psychiatrist at Siyan Clinical. "In sports, you don't win the game with one big play-you build toward the finish one step at a time. Setting a manageable walking goal gives people an achievable place to start and an opportunity to build on their progress. Paying attention to how they feel along the way can help them recognize meaningful changes in their daily lives and give them valuable insights to share with their clinician."

"Even though walking has a number of health benefits, it can be difficult to find time in our full lives to simply go for a walk. It has to fit into what we're already doing," said Amanda Anello, Chief Operating Officer of Siyan Clinical Corporation. "We focused on manageable goals and practical ways for family, friends and even coworkers to connect, make it more fun and encourage one another along the way."

"An app shouldn't take a lot of effort to figure out before it can be useful," said Lisa Arciga, Office Manager at Siyan Clinical. "Stride keeps the experience straightforward-people can see what they're working toward, check in with how they're feeling and recognize their progress along the way. Making those features easy to use helps keep the focus where it belongs: on the person and their wellbeing."

What users can do

Track everyday movement. Sync steps from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, follow a personal goal and record walks with optional route mapping, photos and notes.

Follow a plan that fits. Choose from ten guided walking plans, including First Steps, Active Senior and Walk to 10K, with adjustable goals and walking days.

Connect movement with wellbeing. Complete a brief daily check-in on body, energy and mood, then review those entries alongside activity history.

Walk with others. Create or join invitation-based groups, exchange encouragement and chat. Group views show combined steps and member rankings, and blocking and reporting tools are built in.

Give each walk a destination. Stride Journeys turns accumulated walking distance into progress along virtual routes such as the Camino de Santiago. Milestones unlock illustrated postcards, and completed journeys earn a shareable certificate. Users can participate alone or combine progress with a group.

Include family by choice. Care Circle lets users share selected activity information with a caregiver by invitation and with explicit consent. Users can revoke access, and caregivers do not receive route locations, photos or private notes.

Look back and learn. Review activity trends, streaks and weekly summaries, export walk history and read wellness articles. Premium options include narrated articles, deeper activity insights, adaptive goal suggestions and reminders that respect quiet hours.

Availability and privacy

Siyan Stride is available now as a free download for iPhone and Android, with optional paid subscriptions. Premium features, Stride Journeys and Care Circle require the applicable subscription or preview access. Route mapping is optional. Stride's privacy policy states that user data is not sold or used for advertising. Siyan Stride is a wellness app, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for professional care.
