ZoomInfo Appoints Tomer Gershoni as First Chief Security Officer

Long-Time Cybersecurity Expert Will Lead ZoomInfo’s Security Team, Overseeing Physical and Digital Security and Privacy Efforts

ZoomInfo (NASDAQ: ZI), a global leader in modern go-to-market software, data, and intelligence, today announced the appointment of Tomer Gershoni as its Chief Security Officer.

Gershoni will lead ZoomInfo’s information security team, overseeing physical and digital security and privacy efforts and leading ZoomInfo’s work to safeguard internal and external company data.

He’ll work closely with Simon McDougall, ZoomInfo’s Chief Compliance Officer, and ZoomInfo’s privacy team to ensure the limited, non-sensitive data the company collects and stores remains protected. Gershoni will also serve as a resource for customers, advising them on best practices for accessing, processing, and possessing ZoomInfo’s data.

Gershoni holds a number of patents in the domain of privacy by design and information security risk management, has been published in and contributed to several information security-related academic papers, and is a Certified Information Security Manager.

“As a security- and privacy-first company, there’s no cutting corners when it comes to protecting ZoomInfo’s data assets,” said ZoomInfo Founder and CEO Henry Schuck. “With invaluable cybersecurity experience, Tomer will lead ZoomInfo and its digital entities into a safer and more secure future.”

“Our customers rely on ZoomInfo’s dedication to being on top of the latest cyber security practices when it comes to protecting the data within our platform,” said Gershoni. “It’s up to us to stay a step ahead of emerging threats while building trust with our customers.”

Gershoni brings more than two decades of cybersecurity experience to this role. He served as Chief Information Security Officer and Head of Cyber Defense for the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), a government organization, reporting directly to the prime minister, responsible for protecting companies and individuals from cyber attacks nationwide. As the INCD’s CISO, he was responsible for all cyber defense initiatives for both classified and unclassified operations. He also advised the organization on improving the country’s robustness for cyber security threats.

He also previously served as the Chief Products Security Officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) Software business unit and CISO for the company's SaaS business, where he was responsible for protecting an enterprise software products portfolio of more than 100 different product lines and SaaS services.

Gershoni most recently served as Senior Director and Head of Security Engineering & Cyber Defense Center for Imperva, overseeing product and SaaS operations security while he built and executed the company’s cyber threats program.

ZoomInfo has also invested heavily in its industry-leading cyber security tools, services, and accreditations and is committed to protecting its platform and information in its platform from misuse. In 2020, the company earned its ISO 27001 certification after a rigorous auditing process, enabling it to consistently meet the security needs and growing expectations of its customers. Earlier this year, ZoomInfo earned its ISO 27701 certification, a privacy extension to ISO 27001. The company has also earned AICPA’s SOC2 type 2 report, certifying the security, availability and confidentiality controls around our services.
