Explore! Community School Chooses PowerSchool to Enhance Family Engagement and Behavior Support Capabilities

Nashville-based charter school selects PowerSchool SIS, Attendance Intervention, and Behavior Support to boost family communication and student well-being assistance capabilities

PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC), the leading provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America, today announced Explore! Community School (ECS) in Nashville, Tennessee selected PowerSchool Attendance Intervention, PowerSchool Behavior Support, and PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) to enhance its attendance and family communication, behavior support, and administrative capabilities. As part of the Student Success Cloud and Student Information Cloud, these PowerSchool products will provide ECS with tools to increase attendance and family engagement and assist with positive behavior support and interventions (PBIS) as well as social and emotional learning (SEL) efforts once fully implemented.

“After hearing other school leaders tout their experiences using PowerSchool’s products, our team made the official switch to PowerSchool to support our day-to-day operations,” said Colleen Cummings, Director of Operations, Explore! Community School. “While we’re still in the implementation phase, our staff has enjoyed each product’s interoperability and intuitive interface. Access to real-time student data and each product’s built-in reporting functionality have also been helpful for our team.”

As an all-in-one solution for boosting attendance and improving communication between school and home, PowerSchool Attendance Intervention is designed to help educators boost family engagement. Once fully implemented, ECS will be able to build an effective attendance intervention and management system to help reduce recurring absenteeism.

PowerSchool Behavior Support will similarly support ECS educators by providing staff with a central point of access to manage behavior support operations. As the only evidence-based (ESSA Level II) behavior solution proven to reduce suspensions and referrals and increase school positivity, ECS will have access to real-time data to effectively manage PBIS, SEL, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) efforts across its institution.

Explore! Community School is a project-based learning school based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 2015, ECS serves more than 500 students across Davidson County. The school system offers a K-6 curriculum aligned to ECS' core values – curiosity, community, compassion, courage, and craftsmanship – and includes Spanish, music, and art courses.
