The three- and four-bedroom duplex homes range in size from 1,735 to 2,125 sq. ft. and include high efficiency appliances, sleek cabinets, luxury vinyl flooring, ample storage and a safe room for inclement weather. These homes are ready to welcome senior non-commissioned officers and their family members just as PCS season is underway. Families are expected to fully occupy all new homes within the next week.

Specifically, the event marked new beginnings for two special military families. CW2 Tatiana Santacruz and SFC Janet Godwin were on hand to cut the ribbon and commemorate the event with both Army and Corvias leadership.

“We couldn’t be happier that the Santacruz and Godwin families were able to join us today for this milestone event. This is just one example of how Corvias is reinvesting into our military communities, providing quality housing for military families and meeting the needs of our Army partners,” shared Pete Sims, DOD Managing Director for Corvias.

Additional VIPs in attendance included Garrison Commander Colonel Michael Foote and Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher L. Mullinax, 1st Infantry Division Command Sergeant Major, who also shared a few words speaking to the strong partnership between the US Army at Fort Riley and Corvias. “Team Corvias has created an environment where our soldiers and families can be successful. That means so much when you think of the correlation that has to fighting and winning our nation’s wars,” said CSM Mullinax.

After the ceremony, guests were able to tour the homes and enjoy a few light refreshments.

The addition of these new homes now equals 3,878 homes on the installation, which are managed and operated by Corvias Property Management. With access to sought-after community amenities and the convenience of on-base living, over 13,000 residents choose Fort Riley as their home.

Renewable Energy

Corvias, which began its housing partnership with the U.S. Army at Fort Riley in 2006, has also been committed to helping the Army reach its carbon pollution-free energy goals. To date, Corvias has installed 12.28MW of rooftop solar panels on the installation’s homes. The next phase of solar development will include two ground mounted solar units that will deliver 4.35MW of electricity. These solar projects will provide long-term savings with stable and predictable utility rates for our housing communities and support the Army’s strategic objective of 100% carbon pollution-free electricity for installation needs by 2030.
