Arkansas Virtual Academy Opens New Education Hub in Little Rock

New center to provide tailored education sessions, onsite career preparation and programs

Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA), a tuition-free, online K-12 public charter school providing personalized education, opened its new 24,450-square-foot education hub in downtown Little Rock today. The new education center will provide space for in-person student activities, testing and training and will serve as the school’s statewide headquarters. The site opens as Arkansas Virtual Academy enters its 20th year in the state and continues to grow as a school of choice among students statewide.

"The Arkansas Virtual Academy offers students a tailored and individualized learning journey, catering to their unique needs, empowering them to excel," said Amy Johnson, Head of School at Arkansas Virtual Academy. "Our new education hub will act as a centralized platform, enhancing our mission by granting students even greater access to educational programs that will continuously elevate their learning experience."

The ARVA education hub will also allow space for training the school’s more than 140 faculty members and will act as a space to bring students for additional academic support. It will also host student sessions focusing on career preparation and readiness programs, which will impact the city of Little Rock and Pulaski County as a whole.

The new building is the result of a one-year renovation at the previous site of a furniture warehouse and showroom. Arkansas Virtual Academy wisely utilized a portion of its one-time federal COVID-19 relief funds to finance the project, strategically allocating these resources for a more robust and enduring impact on its educational offerings. Arkansas Virtual Academy is a statewide, tuition-free public charter school powered by Stride, Inc. with more than 4,000 students in all of Arkansas’ 75 counties.
