New Capability Lets Advertisers Target Content by Audience Demographics, Media Behavior and Purchase Intent

Triton Digital, the global technology and services provider to the digital audio, podcast and broadcast radio industries, today launched Demos+ Demographic Targeting, a new content targeting capability built on Demos+, the company’s survey-based podcast audience measurement product, and available now in the Triton Ad Platform (TAP).

Demos+ Targeting classifies podcast content by the audience most likely to consume it, then makes those classifications available as targeting criteria inside TAP. Rather than building a plan from show genre alone, advertisers can buy the podcast shows and episodes that over-index with a defined audience profile spanning demographic, sociographic, media behavior and purchase-intent characteristics.

Because the signal is attached to the content rather than to an individual listener, buyers can apply it consistently across podcast inventory and at full campaign scale, without depending on cookies or device identifiers that are increasingly restricted across the digital advertising ecosystem. Publishers, in turn, retain control of their listener data.

“Advertisers have been able to see who a show reaches for some time, but they haven’t been able to act on it in the same place they buy,” said John Rosso, President and CEO, Triton Digital. “Now, we’re taking strides to close that loop. Buyers plan against an audience profile rather than download counts alone, and publishers get credit for the audiences they deliver.”

Publishers can apply the new targeting options within existing campaign setup, forecasting, reporting and programmatic buying workflows, without adopting a separate tool. Demos+ Targeting replaces traditional station- or content-level tagging with richer, data-selected audience segments, giving publishers and programmatic buyers a shared way to bundle and evaluate premium audience segments across podcast inventory.

Demos+ Targeting pairs Triton's established audience measurement business with new activation capabilities in a single solution, extending data advertisers already use for planning into the platform where campaigns are executed. This gives advertisers more sophisticated targeting to improve campaign efficiency and gives publishers new ways to monetize their inventory, including premium audience segments across their catalogs.

Demos+ Demographic Targeting is now available to publishers with audiences in the United States, Australia, and the Netherlands. Publishers outside those markets can access content targeting today through Sounder, Triton’s AI-powered audio intelligence platform, which analyzes podcast content at the episode level across multiple languages to support contextual targeting, brand safety and brand suitability.
