Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has won a top dealmakers award, Deal of the Year, at the Insider Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2019.

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been awarded Deal of the Year (£25m and above) at the Insider Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2019.
PTSG made a £265 million deal in June this year, for which the award was given in recognition. The deal led to PTSG becoming part of the Macquarie Group after an agreement was reached between Bernard Bidco, an incorporated company established on behalf of Macquarie Principal Finance, and the independent directors of PTSG.
PTSG provides specialist technical services to the construction and FM sectors. The company's services include facade access and fall arrest services, lightning protection and electrical testing, specialist building access and fire solutions, which are split into four business divisions. The divisions operate under PTSG Access and Safety Ltd, PTSG Electrical Services Ltd, PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd, and PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd, and the group units each division under one brand.
With its headquarters in Castleford, West Yorkshire, PTSG employs approximately 1,200 people across its 31 sites throughout the UK. The group provides services for a broad range of industries, with more than 20,000 customers and servicing over 180,000 buildings. PTSG provides a central information service with a focus on dissemination of key information and best practice.
The Insider Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2019 were presented on 21st November at New Dock Hall in Leeds. The black-tie dinner was compered by the actor, broadcaster and former rugby player Martin Bayfield.
Chief Executive Paul Teasdale said:
“It was a great honour to receive this award […] The deal was the biggest landmark in PTSG’s history and has put us in a stronger position than ever before. We have experienced year on year growth since we began trading in 2007. Between the financial year ended 31st December 2015 and the last financial year ended 31st December 2018, reported revenue and adjusted EBITDA have grown at an average annual rate of 39 per cent and 40 per cent respectively.
“This deal has unlocked almost limitless potential and in keeping with our unique business model, it has given us the opportunity to take PTSG to the next level. Against the backdrop of an increasingly competitive market for acquisitions, with a need to close deals quickly and fund them effectively, Macquarie’s deep access to funding gives PTSG the best possible position to continue with its acquisitive growth strategy.”
PTSG received another prestigious award earlier in November. PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd's Adam Davies was given the honour of collecting Account Director of the Year in recognition of his work at Heathrow Airport in facilitating successful safety systems.
