The Fourth Quarter Will Be Brimming With New Games, GAMIVO Predicts

By: Get News
The fourth quarter is usually the most exciting time of the year for gamers because most major releases come out during that period. According to experts, this year won’t be an exception. GAMIVO representatives select the most exciting titles to premiere by the end of 2025.

“GTA VI was supposed to be the biggest release of the fourth quarter and probably the entire year. However, Rockstar Games decided to move the premiere to May 26, 2026, thus leaving more spotlight for titles that would have been overshadowed by the new GTA. For instance, most PlayStation 5 players can now pick Ghost of Yotei, states Pawel Zemka, CRO at GAMIVO.com, a platform specialized in distributing discounted video games.

The sequel to the widely praised Ghost of Tsushima came out on October 2, 2025, as the first big release of the fourth quarter. The first reviews have been suggesting that the new action-adventure game from Sucker Punch Productions can replicate its predecessor's success. Currently, it's available exclusively on PS5 but will most probably eventually premiere on PC.

Battle of shooters

In the meantime, PC players will get other much-anticipated releases, such as Battlefield 6.

“Battlefield is one of the most popular FPS franchises, but the quality of its installments is inconsistent. Fortunately, Battlefield 6 is very promising considering positive opinions about its beta tests,” supposes Pawel Zemka.

Battlefield 6 will come out on October 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. Besides multiplayer modes, it will feature a solo campaign set in 2027 during a fictional conflict between NATO and a military company called Pax Armata.

Battlefield's archrival, Call of Duty, will also be fighting for its place on the list of Christmas gifts. Activision set the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 for November 14. Unlike the EA shooter, it will also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, besides PC and next-gen consoles.

EA and Activision behemoths can find competition in a race to win shooter fans' hearts. ARC Raiders, a TPP extraction shooter from Embark Studios, will debut on October 30, 2025. It was announced as a free-to-play game, but this model has been dropped. As a result, ARC Raiders will be sold for $40. It's significantly less than Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which cost $70. It’s currently the 5th most-wishlisted game on Steam, so players apparently are ready to pay for the game.

Romans, footballers, and dinosaurs

This fall and winter will be particularly fertile for enthusiasts of strategy games. Europa Universalis 5 (November 4), a new grand strategy from Paradox, will offer hundreds of nations that players can lead through centuries. Players who prefer more dynamic combat can wait for Anno 117: Pax Romana (November 13). Ubisoft's city-building RTS will take them to the time of Ancient Rome and let them side with the Romans or Celts.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 (October 21) will also be a good choice for everyone who loves challenging planning and management skills. A new installment in Frontier Developments’ franchise that allows players to create their own Jurassic Park offers a wider dinosaur variety, improved animal behavior, and expanded campaign modes, among other new features and enhancements. Football fans will also have reasons to celebrate because Football Manager 26 is planned to come out on November 4.

“There was no new Football Manager in 2024. Hence, many players can have incredibly high expectations for the upcoming edition. Players shall see if the promised changes, such as the completely overhauled interface, will be enough to make up for the long wait,” states GAMIVO’s CRO.

Developers and publishers don’t forget about RPG fans. The Outer Worlds 2 (October 29) will take them to the stars, while Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 (October 21) will offer a blood-chilling adventure in snow-covered Seattle.

Beloved adventures will return

On top of that, there will also be a long list of Switch 2 exclusives and many reasons to re-experience some well-known adventures thanks to remasters, remakes, and reboots. In the fourth quarter of 2025, players will get Syberia Remastered, Tales of Xillia Remastered, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, Persona 3 Reload, a brand-new version of the legendary Painkiller, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which bundles old MK games, including beat 'em up spin-offs.

“Gaming is characterized by seasonality, and most publishers want to release their most promising titles before Christmas. As a result, players will most likely have more than enough games to play before the release of GTA VI,” concludes Pawel Zemka.
