LAS VEGAS - January 13, 2026 - Attention Labs, the artificial intelligence (AI) company whose products enable machines to engage in natural multi-person conversations, today announced that its selective attention software earned a CES 2026 Picks Award. The award, part of the TechRadar Pro Picks, recognized the company’s live, unscripted CES 2026 demonstration of multi-talker AI technology that can manage real-time interaction in group conversations—including knowing when not to speak. The demo was presented in partnership with Hugging Face. It ran entirely on-device, without reliance on cloud processing.
“It’s a great honor to be acknowledged by TechRadar for our advances in human–machine interaction,” said David Joohun Kim, CEO & Co-Founder of Attention Labs. “Following a multi-person dialogue is one of today’s most significant AI challenges. We anticipate that our solution will have a major impact on robotics and many other critical use cases. We are very pleased to see our approach to such selective attention AI use cases validated by this recognition.”
Attention Labs develops AI systems focused on selective auditory attention. This is a foundational capability for enabling machines to function effectively in real-world, multi-speaker environments. As Kim put it, “In real life, conversations are not always one-on-one. Groups of people speak to each other. We speak over each other. We speak in fragments. As humans, we intuitively know whom to focus on in a group conversation, and we generally understand who is saying the most relevant thing. This is not such a simple matter for a machine. Most conversational AI systems still assume a single speaker and struggle in group settings with overlapping speech, interruptions, and dynamic conversational flow. This is the problem we solve.”
At CES 2026, Attention Labs demonstrated its technology live in an unscripted group conversation that emphasized real-world conditions rather than controlled scenarios. The recognition marks a significant milestone for Attention Labs, moving the company from years of foundational R&D into public demonstration and early pilot discussions with partners across robotics, smart devices, and edge AI.
Attention Labs’ capability is especially relevant for robotics, smart devices, automotive systems, and other edge-deployed AI applications where latency, privacy, and reliability are critical. The significance of the technology’s on-device AI lies in the challenge of delivering functionality at the edge without requiring the software to interact with cloud-based computing. Being able to work without data and instructions moving back and forth over networks means low latency, which is essential for workloads such as robotics or self-driving vehicles.
“If you introduce network and cloud latency into a robotic use case, you will inevitably have unpredictable levels of latency, which affect the outcomes as well as possibly safety and liability,” Kim added.
