TOPEKA, Kan. - May 26, 2026 - Survive-A-Storm Shelters, the nation's leading producer of prefabricated steel tornado shelters, has donated and installed an EF5-rated storm shelter in the 2026 Topeka St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, ensuring the lucky winner's family will have life-safety protection built into their home from the very first day they walk through the door. The Dream Home was built by Drippé Homes, a trusted custom home builder serving Kansas and Missouri, which has built seven dream homes for the annual giveaway for the last five years.
The 9th Annual Topeka St. Jude Dream Home, located in the Sherwood Park neighborhood of southwest Topeka and valued at approximately $410,000, was built entirely by Drippé Homes. The home will be given away on June 10, 2026, with open houses scheduled May 23–24, May 30–31, and June 6–7. Ticket proceeds directly benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, supporting its mission to ensure that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
The donated shelter, a FEMA-compliant, above-ground unit engineered to withstand winds in excess of 250 mph and the debris impacts associated with EF5 tornadoes, was planned as part of the home's design from the beginning of construction. It is listed alongside the home's other premium features, including a large butler's pantry and custom closet systems, as a selling point of the Dream Home.
