Infinitum, creator of the sustainable air-core motor, has been named to Cleantech Group’s 2025 Global Cleantech 100 for the second consecutive year. The annual list highlights the most promising private companies making contributions to sustainable innovation and tackling environmental challenges.
This year’s Global Cleantech 100 report notes that solutions in industrial decarbonization and energy management are well positioned to scale in the coming years, and that companies that capitalize on the growing needs of data centers—and prove their technologies in real-world environments without relying on favorable policy support, will find themselves in the best position to succeed.
In data center settings, Infinitum’s sustainable electric motors average a 20% reduction in emissions, making them more efficient and cost effective than conventional alternatives. Additionally, Infinitum motors can be rightsized to meet the precise power needs, which reduces electrical infrastructure requirements and allows operators to repurpose electrical capacity for revenue generating services, such as more servers.
“With the emergence of generative AI, the need to cool data centers sustainability is more pressing than ever, and our Aircore EC motor is addressing this growing challenge head on,” said Ben Schuler, founder and CEO, Infinitum. “We’re honored to be named on the prestigious Global Cleantech 100 once again and recognized for our commitment to decarbonizing energy-intensive applications in data centers, buildings and industrial settings.”
"2025 will be remembered as a transformative year for cleantech. The bar has gone up for what kind of level of potential novelty, uniqueness, and cost improvements might be attractive," said Richard Youngman, CEO of Cleantech Group. "The Global Cleantech 100 highlights innovators who are building the foundation for a sustainable and economically viable future."
Featured companies will be recognized at the Cleantech Forum North America, being held January 27-29 in San Diego, CA. This event offers participants the opportunity to connect with many of the innovators on the list, along with many other rising stars. The Forum will showcase the latest trends, groundbreaking technologies, and foster collaboration within the cleantech community.
The Global Cleantech 100 program has been running since 2009, the last 12 years with the support of Chubb, the world’s largest property and casualty insurance company.
