-- Online poker legend Chris Moneymaker is once again making headlines after winning the Phil’s Thrill PKO last Sunday and taking the overall chip lead into Day 2 of the OSS #2 $1.5 Million GTD Main Event on Americas Cardroom.
The tournament victory came in the high-stakes Phil’s Thrill PKO, a $10,300 buy-in online poker event that generated a $580,000 prize pool. The Americas Cardroom Pro outlasted a competitive field of 58 entries to earn $191,229 in combined prize money and bounties.
“I still love competing at the highest level, and events like these bring out the best in everybody,” Moneymaker said. “Poker keeps evolving, and that’s what makes winning against these fields so rewarding.”

Moneymaker immediately continued his run in the OSS #2 $1.5 Million GTD Main Event, one of the featured events in the $20 Million Online Super Series running May 11–25.
After surviving a field of 827 entries, Moneymaker finished Day 1A as the overall chip leader with 185.61 big blinds entering Day 2 this Monday.
The online poker tournament carries a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool and a first-place prize of at least $300,000.
Moneymaker’s continued success comes more than 20 years after his historic 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event victory helped create the “Moneymaker Effect,” a poker boom that introduced millions of players to online poker.
As the WSOP approaches and poker broadcasts return to ESPN, Moneymaker continues proving he can compete at the highest level in modern tournament poker.
