Mission Mobile Medical Group Launches Competition to Win a Free Mobile Clinic to Expand Healthcare Access

In a bold move to address healthcare deserts and bridge care gaps, Mission Mobile Medical Group, the world’s largest provider of mobile health programs, is donating a state-of-the-art satellite clinic to a health system aiming to enhance healthcare access. Valued at more than $250,000, this mobile clinic will enable a community health center, rural health system, free clinic, or academic medical program to launch or expand a mobile health program that will directly reach patients who would otherwise go without care.

Forty-six million Americans live in healthcare voids, where distance, transportation, and economic barriers prevent them from accessing even the most basic medical services. Health centers serving these areas are on the frontlines, yet many lack the resources to extend their reach beyond their physical facilities. By eliminating the capital cost of a fully outfitted satellite clinic, Mission Mobile Medical is ensuring that one more healthcare provider has an additional tool to deliver medical care to the people who need it most.

“Healthcare should never be out of reach simply because of where you live,” said Amanda LeFever, President of Mission Mobile Medical Group. “One single satellite clinic can be the difference for a family between early detection versus a life-threatening diagnosis, between managed care and medical bankruptcy. And we refuse to accept a country where access to care is dictated by zip code or income level. That’s why we’re putting this clinic on the road.”

Mobile health programs have proven to reduce ER visits, prevent chronic illnesses, and expand access to life-saving care. Yet, few rural health centers have the funding to secure these advanced medical clinics. Health systems often operate on razor-thin margins and are unable to invest in this kind of infrastructure. That’s why we are now deploying mobile health as a service, so no one needs to make large capital investments in equipment to do this work, and this effort will support getting the word about those options.”

Continued LeFever, "We're removing a massive financial barrier for a health organization. This competition is not just about handing over keys to a vehicle; it's about fundamentally changing the care trajectory for a community that needs it most.”

How healthcare organizations can apply to win a clinic

The competition is open to health centers nationwide that are ready to launch or expand a mobile health program with a satellite clinic. The selection process will prioritize organizations that:

  • Have a strategic plan and intended use case to demonstrate the use of mobile medicine to improve healthcare access and equity
  • Demonstrate a high-need service area where traditional healthcare access is limited
  • Commit to long-term, sustainable impact through their mobile health program

Mission Mobile Medical is accepting applications now through October 31, 2025. Healthcare organizations should complete the form here, and the Mission Mobile Medical team will contact each entrant to support them in completing the application. The winning healthcare organization will be announced in December 2025 following an in-depth selection process led by Mission Mobile Medical’s National Board of Advisors.

Added Amanda, "This mobile clinic isn't just an investment in one lucky provider; we are looking for a long-term partner – someone who shares our values, and our mission of breaking down barriers, expanding access, and proving that reducing physical distance between patients and providers makes all the difference in efficiency and outcomes."
